چکیده
Purpose: To retrospectively compare dosimetrically three dimensional field-in-field tangents (3D F-in-F), Intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) and volumetric arc therapy (VMAT) left breast irradiation plans. Materials Methods: A total of 30 patients were included in this study. All diagnosed with early–stage malignant neoplasm the prior to treatment. Patients contoured main PTV-Chest wall (PTVCW), PTV-Axilla (PTVAX), PTV-IMC (PTVIMC). Monaco treatment planning system was used create For each patient, plans created; conformal (3D-CRT), intensity (IMRT), (VMAT). The dose coverage PTVs constraints Organ-at-Risks (OARs) compared analyzed. Results: objective cover PTVs; PTVCW, PTVAX, PTVIMC V40.43Gy (95%) ≥ 95%, V38.3Gy (90%) V34.05Gy (80%) 95% respectively. Comparing PTVCW between 3D-CRT VMAT, resulted a significant difference (P= 0.003) VMAT superior for target than 3D-CRT. 45.80±0.55, 45.96±0.73, 45.58±0.63 3D-CRT, IMRT, PTVIMC,

Dosimetric comparison of conventional and field-in-field techniques in early stage breast cancer radiotherapy
Introduction: Breast conserving surgery followed by adjuvant radiotherapy (RT) of the whole breast is accepted as the treatment of choice in early stage breast cancer. Due to breast irregularities, it is difficult to access homogenous dose distribution with conventional techniques. Currently, it is possible to use varied breast irradiation techniques, such as field- in-field (F...
متن کاملDosimetric comparison of whole breast radiotherapy using field in field and conformal radiotherapy techniques in early stage breast cancer
Background: We aimed to compare field-in-field technique (FIF) with conformal tangential field radiotherapy (CRT) in terms of dosimetric benefits for early stage breast cancer radiotherapy. Materials and Methods: Twenty consecutive left-side breast cancer patients who underwent breast-conserving surgery were included to the study. For each patient, two different treatment plans were cr...
متن کاملComparison of forward intensity modulated radiation therapy and two field tangential wedged beam techniques in radiotherapy of breast cancer: dosimetric and radiobiologic study
Introduction: This study aims to compare the dose delivery parameters and radiobiologic model prediction of Tumor Control Probability (TCP) of the FIMRT technique compared with rectangular two tangential wedged fields (2FW) in the treatment of breast cancer. Furthermore, reduction of the heart and lung dose in the FIMRT was studied via dosimetric parameters and radiobiologic mo...
متن کاملDosimetric comparison between intensity modulated radiotherapy and three dimensional conformal radiotherapy planning in patients with locally advanced cervical carcinoma
Background: External beam radiotherapy (EBRT) is mainstay of treatment in patients with locally advanced cervical carcinoma (LACC). Three dimensional conformal radiotherapy (3DCRT) and intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) are mainly used in EBRT. However which one is superior is still controversial. Materials and Methods: Forty patients of LACC treated with IMRT were selected for this study....
متن کامل3-Dimensional conformal radiotherapy versus intensity modulated radiotherapy for localized prostate cancer: Dosimetric and radiobiologic analysis
Background: To analyze the dosimetric and radio biologic advantages between intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) and 3 dimensional conformal radiotherapy (3DCRT) and selection of optimal photon energy for IMRT treatments. Material and methods: 24 patients with localized prostate carcinoma were planned for 3DCRT and IMRT techniques. Radiation dose of 54 Gy with 2 Gy/fraction, was planned to ...
